COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
John Pond being awarded a Manly Community Service Award by center manager Jacqueline Smith at a ceremony in front of the Mayor of Manly. The award was for outstanding Community Service at Manly. John works from the center in his 2 day a week role for Wesley Mission where he trains long term unemployed for positions in the hospitality and marketing industry.
FRANK SINATRA DOCUMENTARY
John Pond recently featured in a one hour documentary made by Endemol Southern Star Pty Ltd about the 1974 Frank Sinatra Tour. John played a crucial role in Sinatra’s dealing with Bob Hawk and the unions (see story below). The documentary was made to appear on British and European television and may be sold worldwide. John is featured throughout as he tells the story. Sinatra took John back to the USA in his private jet as a thank you for his part in the events.

Advertising spending in Australia is moving away from television and newspapers and onto the Internet. In November 2005, Merrill Lynch forecast that the Internet will be Australia's fastest-growing growing channel, with a 35% increase in advertising revenues that year. As of the end of 2005, the Audit Bureau of Verification Services (ABVS) reported that spending on online advertising in Aust. reached $620 million. & for the first quarter of 2006, the Australian online advertising market grew by 65% over the same quarter in 2005 to reach a total of over $195 million.
